In many sets of IPH5, there is a hardware problem of wifi chip. Apple is replacing it once they receive the complaints. Go to Apple store, they will replace your set. Apple lost many customers because of this problem. Hopefully, Apple will rectify this wifi issue in Iph5S.

I experiened the same case. My Wife's iph4S is working fine with same distance and settings of router but my IPH5 is not. Some old models are having this issue.

Im having problems with wifi, i cant join networks even with the correct password it says incorrect password. ive tried rebooting, reseting network etc but since ive reset network settings i cant connect to any wifi even with correct password. Ive reset the router the phone everything on the net ive tried. Apples slogan "it just works" is a load of bull****. Ive had nothing but problems with my iphone 5 since ive had it, im already on my second phone in 6 months.

My (incorrect) "incorrect password" issue was cured by restoring my iPhone 5 as new. Try it; it's a hassle, but it worked for me.

    Hi,

Because iPhone 5 has a metal back case cover issues, so that its WiFi / 3G signal connection is weak and become a kind of directional antenna property.

Suggest, you can move your iPhone 5 to close WiFi AP for more better signal or rotate it to direct your base station.

Maybe<Perfecting Signals >, this new product can provide a way to fix your issues.

I'm having the same issue which is highly frustrating. I've tried loads of suggestions in this thread, but nothing seems to fix the issue - I have to be close to the Billion Router or my connectivity no longer works.

All my other devices (iPad, iPhone 4, Kindle, Wii, Laptops and Printer all operate 100%. In fact the iPhone 5 was perfect, until the ios 6.1.4. update.

BAD news....I got a call from Apple today, and they said that after reviewing all of the logs they took for testing purposes, they see no problem with my phone!

As you can imagine, I was NOT pleased, so I captured this video demonstrating my problem:

There are extensive analysis in the notes section of the video...

I have passed this video along to my Apple rep, but I really don't see them resolving this.

Hi, yes i went into settings to reset my phone to factory so its totally wiped. Then connected to wifi straight away and restored my phone through my icloud back up.

Thanks - I tried something similar the other day i.e. wiped out phone, but restored from my itunes / pc backup and the issue is still there. I'll give your method a try and let you know the outcome.

I restored as new, since I wanted to make sure that I didn't possibly have a backup that contained a corrupt system or file that was causing the problem. It sounds, though, like your issue may be different. My phone worked fine on totally open wifi networks, even my own when I turned off all security. My phone simply started not being able to log in to any system that required a password to be entered in the phone's settings. It even worked fine in systems that used the Apple login or a Safari login page. I could pinpoint the date that this started, so after my first restore I tested the login process and it worked fine, so I restored again from a back up that predated the problem in order to not have to manually reconfigure everything!

    Good luck
