iPad is connected to my home Wi-Fi and the HP 7520 recognizes the same home Wi-Fi name.  When selecting a printer to print an email (or anything else), "no AirPrint printer is found".

When trying to print by going directly to the HP 7520 Wi-Fi (HP-Print-6c-Photosmart 7520), the iPad recognizes the printer Wi-Fi but never makes the connection.

Other details:

The HP 7520 passes the wireless network test but does not indicate connection to the Internet.

When first setting up the printer, I was able to print two email messages.  After printing these two messages, I turned the power off both the printer and the iPad.  I have never been able to print since that first time.

I have tried unplugging and restarting the cable modem, the NetGear Wireless, the printer and the iPad with no success.

Very frustrating!

The notes in the attached contain some troubleshooting tips (e.g., check printer's firmware):

    AirPrint Basics

Which netgear wireless router are you using?

First, if you have a dual band router, make sure that the names of the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands are different.  Devices on the different bands should communicate with each other, but often they don't.  If the router isn't a dual band or you have different names for the bands already, then the devices should be able to communicate if they are showing a connection to the same network.

Next, try power cycling the network.  This is fairly easy to do.  Power down the iPad all the way.  Make sure it's completely off and not just asleep.  With the power on to the printer, pull the power cord from the rear of the printer.  Pull the power cord from the rear of the router.  Wait 30 seconds.  Plug in the router, but do not turn on the printer or the iPad.  Wait 1-2 minutes.  This will allow the router to stabilize.  Once it's stable plug in and turn on the printer, and turn on the iPad.  Test Airprint.

Finally, if it's still not working, contact HP Cloud Support by phone.  There may be a hardware problem with the printer that needs to be addressed.  You can reach them at 1-855-785-2777  Let me know what you find.

    My wireless is RangeMax WPN824 v2 (IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, 2.4 GHz)

The router is the problem here.  That router came out before Airprint was made.  You will need a newer router to use Airprint.  Sorry.

Any ideas on this 2nd way to print?  When trying to print by going directly to the HP 7520 Wi-Fi (HP-Print-6c-Photosmart 7520), the iPad recognizes the printer Wi-Fi but never makes the connection.

That is quite strange.  Is the iPad connecting to the network and won't print, or will it not connect to the network at all?

The iPad try's to connect to HP-Print-6c-Photosmart 7520 but never completes the connection (no check mark even after 3 minutes of trying)

The only thing I can think to do is reset the network defaults on the printer.  I'll include those instructions below.  This will take the printer off the network, and can change it's IP.  The printer will need to be reconnected to the network.  Any PC's or Mac's that are connected to it may need to be reconnected.  If that doesn't work, you will need to contact HP Cloud Services to have a semi-full reset done on the printer.  I'll incluce the number to call below.  Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it.  Wireless direct isn't any faster than Airprint, and it limits the iPad, by not allowing an internet connection.  It's up to you if you want to pursue this, but I wouldn't mess with it since Airprint is working.

    To restore network defaults:

    1. Touch the wireless icon on the front of the printer.
    2. Touch Settings.
    3. Touch Restore Network Defaults.
    4. Touch Yes.
    5. The network defaults should be restored.
