Movies downloaded from the iTunes store, depending upon whether they are HD or standard, vary between 1 GB and 4 GB on average. Assuming the movie is 4 GB, if you are getting an estimate of 15 hours, this implies that your connection speed is around 0.6 Mbits/second (based on some hasty math).
There are several websites, a popular one being http://www.speedtest.net, that you can visit to test your connection speed. If the tested speed does not match the speed advertised by your ISP, you have a network issue.
