It's Pages version 1.7.2 on a 1st generation iPad, and it used to work fine.  When I tap the Pages icon, the app crashes right after the background pops up along with the word "Pages" at the top.  I was going to uninstall and reinstall, but I get a warning that uninstalling the app will delete all of its data. My data is not on the cloud.  There is 48GB of memory left, but the diagnostics feature records a low memery error when I try to open Pages.  Any suggestions?

Try clearing stuff, like unused media or apps, off your iPad and see if that makes a difference. You can alwasy add them back.

You can check how much space is left on your iPad by plugging it in to your Mac and viewing it in iTunes.

You can also check it in Settings > General > Usage

Before the uninstall/reinstall, try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

If you do have to resort to the uninstall, activate iCloud first and make sure your files are loaded to it.

I have exactly the same problem. That is, Pages on my iPad Mini (iOS 6.1.3) is now only showing a blank opening screen with no menu items.

I have tried a reinstall of Pages and Numbers. No change

I did recently sign into iWork for iCloud Beta.

This may have something to do with it???

I've signed into beta recently and not expereincing any issues. Data source is the same in both production and beta. Did you follow the process above, including the reset?

Yep, tried all of the suggested actions.

I have discovered that the same thing is happening on my iPhone 4.

    I will contact Apple today.
