Thanks for the quick response. I looked at this breifly yesterday but I guess I didn't realize it was free for personal use. Also, it wasn't clear to me (and I guess still isn't) that this allows me to control my own computer remotely. It looks like this is more for Remote control of one computer from another (desktop/laptop) computer rather than an iOS device. Would I still install the all-in-one package on my G5 and use the iOS app to connect back to that while it is unattended, or does someone have tio accept the remote session on the other end? Also, just wonderiung if you know how this compares to LogMeIn Free?
Does Teamviewer require you set up an account with them (as LogMeIn does), or is everything managed locally?

I can't speak for LogMeIn (never used it).
You would install on your G5, create an account, and follow the wizard for unattended access then download the iOS app and log into your account and your G5 will be there. You can add as many machines as you like as well as create groups and customize client names.
I have been using this for about 2 years and it works flawlessly. You can use computer to computer of iOS to computer.
It is great for providing tech support to family and friends.

TeamViewier does have an iOS client, and it deals very well with getting through home routers.
If you do not want something like TeamViewer or LogMeIn, and will be configuring your router, you might want to look at portforward.com which has instructions for a host of routers.
