Try clearing stuff, like unused media or apps, off your iPad and see if that makes a difference. You can alwasy add them back.
You can check how much space is left on your iPad by plugging it in to your Mac and viewing it in iTunes.
You can also check it in Settings > General > Usage

Before the uninstall/reinstall, try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.
If you do have to resort to the uninstall, activate iCloud first and make sure your files are loaded to it.

I have exactly the same problem. That is, Pages on my iPad Mini (iOS 6.1.3) is now only showing a blank opening screen with no menu items.
I have tried a reinstall of Pages and Numbers. No change

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I've tried closing everything and resetting. I've made sure there is plenty of memory. I have not signed into iWork or iCloud with the iPad.
When the opening screen pops up, it lasts for 1/2 to 4 seconds before crashing and sending me back to the home screen, with all of the app icons. The problem began about the time I put Pages onto my iPhone 5. Could that be a factor?
