Jun 5, 2013 7:08 PM in response to lodragonsby carola4y,I think I found a solution. I first changed my email on apple I'd. Then I deleted the account in setting on my ipad. It then took me to a page which reset my apple I'd to the new one, and then I just reentered my password. Email reset.

Jun 14, 2013 6:04 AM in response to carola4yby abazaba410,I changed my apple ID but no luck on it prompting me to change my iCloud or letting me delete it. So I am pretty stuck. Everytime i try to delete the account on my iPhone it asks me for my password, since its the wrong email address it tells me its wrong.
I also tried Crazy_Ivans and no luck with having the option to make those changes. -
Jul 19, 2013 3:06 AM in response to Highlordkramby PavanSingh,I found a sort of solution, go to icloud.com, click on mail then click on preferences in the top right. Then if you go to account you can create an alias, which will not replace the iCloud email account you have created, but will create an alias that you can give ouy to people for your iCloud account. That way you can give out the alias, but the emails will come to the original iClous account

Jul 19, 2013 10:42 AM in response to pinkteajiby Einhorn01,Just to put my two cents in The instructions from pinkteajiare correct, but since ICloud is linked to Itunes you need to first change your I tunes e-mail like pieragermentioned.
My E-mail was hacked and I was without internet for a few years, I had to change my Apple ID (e-mail) once I did that I got everything switched in I tunes, The day after I changed my Itunes e-mail for some reason I cloud had still the old address set as default.(grayed out) I came in here today to find a fix and pinkteaji response (see below) was the answer. Now everything is working fine.
This worked for me. sign out of your apple id by going to settings, store, then sign out. Then, You go into settings and just delete your icloud account. You do this by going on settings, icloud, and scroll to bottom for delete account. Then you press the button that will let you keep your data inside your phone. Go to settings, store again and sign into it using your apple id (whichever you use) When you get back into icloud through settings, it should already have the apple id (the one you use/want to use) already done. if not, you can actually type it in now so its all good.
The problem started with me because I deleted my old email account and I started using my gmail account for it .I changed the email through the website but it never transferred over to my iphone. It did for my itunes and stuff but not for my icloud for some reason. Then my phone screen broke and i had to ge ta completely different phone and i tried syncing but couldn't So i had to mnaually go to itunes and put everything back into my phone that was last saved in my computer and then do VOT8783's solution.
it works peeps, so try it at least it worked for me anyway

Aug 19, 2013 1:21 AM in response to Highlordkramby Peter_725,PLEASE, READ CAREFULLY!
- If you want to change the name of your main iCloud email - name@icloud.com - you CAN'T do that!
THE SOLUTION - create an aliase (http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2622). It is a secondary email, which you can set up to be used as a primary one (instead of the email you misspelled or do not want any more) - you can deactivate the usage of your main email and write from the aliase. This is the only way to create the email you want with the same Apple ID.
- If you want to change the main email - you can do this ONLY by signing with diffrent Apple ID. You actually will need to use two Apple IDs at the same time - the main Apple ID for iTunes, and another one only for your iCloud email.
Please, do not forget to LIKE this and to click that the problem is solved!!!

Aug 23, 2013 5:16 AM in response to Highlordkramby Teresiachase,A HUGE THANK YOU to all those who helped me solve this problem. I moved and no longer had access to the account i registered as my iCloud ID. Although it was scary, I followed the advice which said to delete the iCloud account, held my breath through the warning, and sure enough, the option to save the data on my iPad showed up. YAY! All is ell now on my iPad.

Aug 24, 2013 9:01 AM in response to Highlordkramby jjbrown05,Now my problem is this....I left my phone in my pocket and did my laundry (i know, what an idiot!!). So I went to apple store and got a new phone and when unloaded phone, it asked me for my apple if. No biggie, put in my current apple id and password, and it started running me through my emails and such. Then last prompt was, restore from last icloud back up, which was 2 days ago. I prompted that, and it brought up my old email, which doesn't exist, and no longer a icloud account, and asked for that password. It won't let me change email address as its greyed out. Since it took my apple id and is restoring my settings, it won't let me delete icloud account. It states that the phone is being restored and icloud account cannot be deleted. I tried deleting all the apps that are downloading, but still says its being restored. My primary email on icloud account is the one I use for my apple ID, but keeps asking for old email address password. I've tried restoring and erasing content and starting up as a new phone, and then entering my apple id and password and then entering the apple id and password in icloud but it won't restore my apps and such. What now?

Aug 24, 2013 11:42 AM in response to jjbrown05by Teresiachase,Did you go to Settings/iTunes-store and sign out? That was the last step I needed to so. Also, I was on the phone with Apple for a long time, and they were very helpful.

Sep 1, 2013 4:00 PM in response to Highlordkramby Davisse,I have had to change my icloud email address and read through what everyone had posted and thought what the **** just delete account, like many of you have suggested and that had worked for you. Low and behold it worked. It asked me if I wanted to keep the data from the account which I selected yes, and it took a few seconds and came up with the email address I had changed all my other apple log in email addresses to and it asked me do I want to merge the data to this apple ID which I selected yes and that was that all done in two minutes. Thank you all.

Sep 7, 2013 6:10 PM in response to Highlordkramby Targamark,This is how to change the iCloud "EMAIL" address without changing your Apple ID used for the iCloud account.
First of all create an alias your-email@icloud.com email address (you are allowed up to 3) by logging onto iCloud.com >Mail >show actions cog (top RH) > Preferences > Accounts > Add an alias > then save.
On your iPhone then go to Settings > iCloud > Account > Advanced > Mail > Email
You now have the option to CHOOSE your-email@icloud.com as the default email address to use for the iCloud account !!!
All recipients will see this email address when sending out email and you will recieve all mail sent to either the original or the alias.
Why is all this Apple Malarky so tough?
