I have an Iphone5, with a voice recognition problem when trying to dial through Bluetooth, the phone has been replaced once to rectify this situation, sadly resulting in no solution at all. The Bluetooth system in the vehicle which is new, has also been replaced to recity the situation, also not a solution. The phone pairs and plays music from the phone through the car's Bluetooth streaming feature usually fine, yet sometimes that feature falls off as well. The problem is huge and annoying as the car's Bluetooth system voice recognition is not working properly at all if ever at all. It does not dial many names in the list of contact, or only one or two out of 203. When it suggests a person to call by voice recognition it's usually not even close to what you've asked for. Friends, who have Iphone5's with the same operating system as well, get in my vehicle, load their phone onto the Bluetooth, and it works fine, dials their contacts in full. As well all Iphone4's or 3's, and Blackberry's also work without an issue whatsoever. When I get in their vehicles, it does not work. It should be noted that even though this is my second phone handset, a suggestion made by Apple to rectify the situation and that the Bluetooth system has also been replaced once, it's a new car, it still will NOT recognize any voice prompts to dial anyone properly. The phone and Bluetooth will accept incoming calls, dial a #, all those features work fine, but it will not recognize a voice command to CALL NAME, other than a couple people on the list of contacts. HELP!

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4, Bluetooth & Iphone5 replaced...

If Apple has replaced your device and it still will not work, however other phones will, the only alternative I can see if another replacement phone. Logic says, that if your phone will not work in your car but other people's phones will; and if your phone will not work in other people's cars but theirs will, the common denominator here is your phone. I would make another visit to Apple.

The only other thought I would have would have to do with your backup. If you are restoring the new phone from your backup, try to set up the new phone as a new phone and manually sync just your contacts to the phone. There may be something corrupt in the backup. After adding the contacts, test the phone. If it works, then sync the balance of your content. While you will lose saved app data and SMS history, as long as you have synced and imported photos, etc., you will have that backed up if needed and will be able to sync other content back
