Jul 22, 2013 3:30 PM in response to zander10by Allan Sampson,★HelpfulWhat sort of device - another smart phone?
If so, iPhone contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer. Since your iPhone contacts should be available on your computer, possibly the other smart phone or non-Apple device supports the same.
Therea are a number of free email accounts that support syncing contacts over the air on an iPhone such as Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail. If another smart phone, it should support the same.

Jul 22, 2013 3:37 PM in response to Allan Sampsonby zander10,for now i want to export to google contacts so that i can use them on an android device.
I tried using the function to do that in iTunes (what ever the current version is they are offering today) but it does not seem to work.
I tried exporting them to .cvs using iTunes also but that too does not work.
does anyone know where the contacts database is on the phone? i tried looking for it by picking through the file system but no luck there either. i will have to know the location to use another app as Ocean20 suggested.

Jul 22, 2013 3:39 PM in response to zander10by Ocean20,★HelpfulYou dont need the location of the contacts. Just download the free MCBackup app and it does it all for you. It looks at your contacts and creates the csv file that is attached to an email that you can send

Jul 22, 2013 3:40 PM in response to zander10by Allan Sampson,These are Google contacts - Google online contacts you can access from a browser on a computer and being synced over the air with your Gmail account on your iPhone?
If so, you don't need to do anything except create and access your Gmail account on the Android.

Jul 22, 2013 5:10 PM in response to Ocean20by zander10,These are helpful but don't really solve the problem. I used MCBackup to send files to two different email addresses but it only showed up at one. And i am not sure that the file I did recieve can be read by anything but Apple(R) Contacts.
There are a few options laying around that would seem to export Apple(R) contacts to other formats but they don't seem to actually work.
I can view these articles in iCloud in a web browser but at present Apple(R) Contacts seem to be in no way portable.
EDIT: I did find the option to export Contacts in .cvs using MCBackup.

Jun 24, 2014 11:17 PM in response to zander10by canacewalker,You want to move contacts from iPhone to other device, then you have to sync your iPhone with the pc using a usb cable.
You can transfer your iPhone contacts into Android with the help of iPhone to Android Transfer , which can transfer data between that two phones in seconds. It can help you push data with a click and also transfer contents from your android phone to iPhone easily.
