Q: Powerbook not recognizing iPod Nano. Dialogs: IPod may be corrupted; Restore factory settings "Failed could not be read from or written to" Now not visible. Tried unplugging # times & restarting. ITunes updated 11.0.4. HELP!
Powerbook & iTunes not recognizing iPod Nano - not visible. IPod is black.
Number of Dialogs: 1) iPod disconnected incorrectly; 2) iPod appears to be corrupted; 3) Restore factory settings.
I have disconnected & reconnected, restarted a number of times. iPod is still black & unresponsive. HELP!

1st gen nano is pretty old. Apple quit making almost 7 full years ago. Most likely the battery is dead.
Try this...
- Plug it into the computer.
- Toggle Hold switch to On then Off.
- Press & hold both Menu & Select fro ~10 seconds, until you see the Apple menu.
