Hi there.

I had to reinstall windows on my computer.

Now, I'm trying to get my iPod Touch synced again with iTunes.

However, every time I try (whether it's thru WiFi or USB), I keep getting a message warning me that:

"The iPod is synced with another iTunes library. An iPod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. What would you like to do?

Erase and Sync - replaces the contents of this iPod with the contents of this iTunes library

Transfer Purchases - copies iTunes Store purchases this computer is authorized to play from this iPod to this iTunes library."

I've already tried clearing everything; I've deauthorized this computer etc.. signed back in again etc.. I still keep getting the same thing though.

I don't know what else to do. There's nothing currently in my iTunes on my computer, so if I do the "Erase and Sync" option, I'll lose just about everything, except for a few purchases or whatever..

If anyone knows how to resolve this, please let me know ASAP!!

I also have my iPod backed up to iCloud, which I know pretty much nothing about.. I don't know where my stuff is actually backed up at, like where to go for it, nor at all how I'd go about doing a "restore" or anything...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

@ turingtest2: I went to that link you provided. However, that's not working for me at all..

I think pretty much anything/everything already in the Apple website here, doesn't really apply to my situation..

I'm looking to get things back to the way I had them before in iTunes.. none of my music and/or apps etc. are showing in my main/local Library in iTunes.. know what I mean ??

Yes, I do know what you mean. The simple way to do that would be to restore the backup of the library you made before the reinstall of Windows... but if it were that easy you wouldn't be here asking for help. Reinstalling Windows destroyed your library (and your other personal data stored on the drive). Hopefully most of your media is on your device. The tools listed at the bottom of the article should let you extract all the non-iTunes store purchases from the device (i.e. the things you can't transfer or download with iTunes). iTunes can extract the apps which will be faster than downloading them again. The step-by-step guide is designed to make sure that you recover as much as can be recovered from the device, then backup and restore it so that it treats your new library like home.

Well, I was trying either that or something else in iTunes.. now things are really screwed up... it removed a large amount of my apps, including with spreading the apps it did leave on my iPod, throughout several screens, when I had a total of 4 before I think..

now in iTunes it's downloading some update for the iPod touch...

but since it also removed Pandora from my iPod, I disconnected the USB and installed Pandora back on for now (I need my music!!), since that update was going to take like a good 3 hours or something..

as far as the backup, I backed up my iPod just a little bit ago, before this new drama just happened..

my concern is for how to restore exactly.. and I'm not meaning restoring the iPod to its original factory settings.. I'm mean restoring what I backed up, which hopefully was everything on my iPod..

now in iTunes, it's showing about 45 minutes remaining for that iPod update download..

I just want to get things back to the way they were (in iTunes) before I reinstalled windows on my computer.. showing all my music in the Music section, all my apps in the Apps section, etc...

okay, now I'm restoring the entire iPod back to original settings etc., via iTunes...

this SO better restore from the last backup I did... if not, and I've lost all my apps, notes, music etc.. I'm going to be SO very annoyed etc...

ugh, omg... I did all of that... something got messed up during the restore process, leaving me with almost ALLL of my music GONE.... and the MAJORITY of my apps are left "Waiting" etc......

this is an entire mess!!!!!!!! ):

seriously, someone please please help me with this!!

If you extracted all the apps and media into the local library then even if the restore session fell over you should be able to do it again and select the media to sync to the device. If you didn't recover the apps & media first, and backup the device as instructed, then I really don't know what to say.

this apparently only restored the "settings" for the iPod or something ?!?!?!

now EVERYTHING is GONE............. I'm beyond fed up and annoyed etc.......

and before I thought Apple had the advantage over Android for backing up/restoring etc.. I thought with iTunes etc., restoring all your apps and things was a lot easier than for with an Android device... guess I was WRONG!!!!!!

with Android, you may have to do them individually/manually (installing your apps back on etc.).. but at least everything's still there!!!

Nevermind I figured out how to restore from iCloud... this better restore my actual apps and music etc... and not just some "settings" or whatever BS....

ONCE AGAIN THIS **** THING COMES UP WITH THIS MESSAGE... HAPPENED AT THREE TIMES OR MORE NOW!!!!!!

    "RESTORE INCOMPLETE

SOME ITEMS COULD NOT BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE STORE. IF THEY ARE ON YOUR COMPUTER, YOU CAN RESTORE THEM BY SYNCING WITH ITUNES."

    WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY HAVE THESE SO-CALLED "BACKUP" OPTIONS IF THEY'RE NOT GOING TO EVEN F-ING RESTORE ?!?!?!!?!?!

    THANKS A LOT APPLE!!!!!!! ):
