Safari does not show favicons after update to 6.0.3

Hello,

today I updated my safari browser and after that all my favicons are delated (only the blue sphere is there) and after a whole reset of safari and restart of the system the icons are still missing 😟. Help me please!!!


current version of Safari: 6.0.3

OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), Safari 6.0.3

I have the same issue. I had not reset Safari or done anything in Terminal commands. I did try resetting Safari just now to see whether that might actually reset something so that the favicons would begin to repopulate upon visiting each site but that isn't helping either. This is quite a mystery to me. Not even Apple.com displays its favicon in the address bar or my bookmarks.

I had the same problem and fixed it by deleting the Webpageicons.db file in the ~/Library/Safari folder.


Open Finder, hold down the Option key while selecting the Go menu and then choose "Library". Open the Safari folder and drag Webpageicons.db to Trash. Restart Safari, and favicons will start loading again (or did for me at least).
