Safari does not show favicons after update to 6.0.3

You almost assuredly reset Safari.

The favicons do not disappear as a result of installing the OS X 10.8.3 update (which includes that latest Safari.

When you click on the web site the first time, the favicons will reappear.

That I do not understand.......there is a terminal command that will disable them, but I assume you did not do that.

Have patience: as Barry said the disappeared favicons do reappear unless you eliminated that in Terminal, or in tools like Onyx, Deeper or whatever you have.

I have the same issue. I had not reset Safari or done anything in Terminal commands. I did try resetting Safari just now to see whether that might actually reset something so that the favicons would begin to repopulate upon visiting each site but that isn't helping either. This is quite a mystery to me. Not even Apple.com displays its favicon in the address bar or my bookmarks.

Like others I'm having this problem. I have not made any modifications in Termainal. Nor did I reset any Safari prefs prior to the evaporation of my favicons. And favicons are not returning over time. I'm running Safari 6.0.5.

I had the same problem and fixed it by deleting the Webpageicons.db file in the ~/Library/Safari folder.

Open Finder, hold down the Option key while selecting the Go menu and then choose "Library". Open the Safari folder and drag Webpageicons.db to Trash. Restart Safari, and favicons will start loading again (or did for me at least).

Recently I read this post http://include.aorcsik.com/2014/12/04/add-favicons-to-safari-8-tabs/ the instructions here really work. I have safari 8.05 and all the favicon icons are once again back.
