Q: Why is the Apple Mac Developer portal down, and for how long?

I cannot access the Mac Developer resources this morning.

With a company as advannced as Apple, I would expect them to be able to roll out web updates

seamlessly.

I don't like being out in the cold.

I want to download the Mavericks Beta.

I've unsubscribed to this thread because of the trolls that are posting here. If you look at the profiles of the posters who are doing the most complaining; the ones talking about lawsuits or how long they are waiting (since Thursday as we all know) you'll see they joined the forum within the down period. Don't feed the trolls.

I hope this is not a trend on Apple's Support forums. If trolls are in the other sections of the forum as well then perhaps something needs to be done to make sure that only actual customers post here.

There are trolls on every forum on the Internet; especially on Apple-related forums.

For some strange reason, people need to set up an Apple ID and log in here just to start flame wars.

    I've never understood it.

I don't go on other non-Apple related forums (Android, et. al) and say how bad anything is about that platform.

That's one of the differences between the two platforms.

I don't think anyone would want to bother creating an "Apple ID" just to come on here, the fact I had to register one might be the answer.

And secondly just because you don't go on the Android forums and post or rant isn't the difference between the 2 platforms, its got nothing to do with the platforms, its to do with the end user base.

According to a statement released by Prada the Russian News Agency.  Snowden reports that the Obama administration lead by their number one hatchet man Eric "Closet King" Holder, the USG was going to keep Apples developer portal down until a significant under the table payment was made.

Prada insists that this falls in line with the Administrations fiscal policy of Redistribution of wealth.

I wonder if this is true?

How did we get to talking about Ayn Rand on an apple developer board?  LOL.

I want to start talking about red-ticket camera enforcement.

Why the wild rasberries outside my home grow.

And my canoe -- that I am gonig to paint purple for the nieces and nephews.

All of which are being affected by the apple developer board being down.

We make lite of the sad reality that Apple is not Enterprise ready.

Well since the Dev Portal is down, I am trying to get my first app as ready as possible...  I am a total newb, fyi.  Can anyone give me some links, or tips for the App Store artwork, like if your app is featured, I mean, what should I be prepared for?  Also, if any of you are particularly bored then head over to my website wonderpolls.com, it is what my app is based off of...

As this is not a developer forum and instead a public one, the NDA prevents us from answering that question. Therein lies the problem with Apple's NDA and the fact that while they are down we have no outlet for that exact type of question. I second Menace7dc's comment, they are not enterprise ready. This has effectively shutdown our development department. Nearly all of our 500 developers have been re-tasked to work on Android apps until the dev portal is restored and proven reliable. Why continue to work on iOS apps when you cant submit the changes.. UGH I hate to see what the timelines are going to look like. Most of the projects only have a 2 week buffer.

Eloquently worded Deep Sea.  If I were Apple I would hire someone like myself who understands Enterprise Strategy and can make their business model work at both the retail and Enterprise level.  I Love Apple but the fact is that they have outgrown themselves, they have developed a succesful business model that is being managed like teen agers.  They are losing monies and dont even know it.

Yeah, new mail from Apple, "Apple Developer System Status Update":

"We apologize for the significant inconvenience caused by our developer website downtime. We've been working around the clock to overhaul our developer systems, update our server software, and rebuild our entire database. While we complete the work to bring our systems back online, we want to share the latest with you.

We plan to roll out our updated systems, starting with Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, Apple Developer Forums, Bug Reporter, pre-release developer libraries, and videos first. Next, we will restore software downloads, so that the latest betas of iOS 7, Xcode 5, and OS X Mavericks will once again be available to program members. We'll then bring the remaining systems online. To keep you up to date on our progress, we've created a status page to display the availability of our systems.

If your program membership is set to expire during this period, it will be extended and your app will remain on the App Store. If you have any other concerns about your account, please contact us.

Thank you for your continued patience."
