May 21, 2013 7:22 PM in response to yosoysytby patixa,As I've posted in some other threads, this sometimes works for me.
Find the original video file in Finder, select it, then
Finder > Services > Encode Selected Video Files
I haven't experimented with all of the settings to know which is "best", but try something appropriate to your content. When it's done, re-import the new file into your widget project.

May 23, 2013 1:48 PM in response to ugofalaceby ugofalace,Hi Patixa,
Thanks for your support but it doesn't work this way. With your procedure I'm only able to save a .m4v file which is not suppoted into HTML5 widget. Only .mp4 should be running.
Thanks anyway
Ugo

May 23, 2013 1:51 PM in response to ugofalaceby patixa,If you change the output file's extension to ".mp4", does it work?

May 23, 2013 1:56 PM in response to patixaby ugofalace,No it doesn't work either.
Actually a specialist from Apple tested it during a workshop and he couldn't fix it.
We tried everything so we just gave up.
Thanks a lot

Jun 28, 2013 8:35 AM in response to ugofalaceby MediaCat,Hi ugofalace. I've had success using Hype to create a HTML widget with video embedded. I did run into some quirks along the way, as you have. You may have already tried this but one thing to check is to keep the video pathname (including folder names) simple, with only alphanumeric characters, and no spaces. You already mentioned that your video is a H.264 mp4 - I ran into problems until I noticed that I was given an mp4 video, but it wasn't H.264. I used QuickTime Pro 7 (i.e., QuickTIme Player 7 that has a Pro license) to convert to the right format. Using QTPro give lots of options with the Export command, and allows tweaking of data rate, size, frame rate, etc.
In Hype, I found that if I embedded the video, and set it to "autoplay", it will start correctly when going to the beginning of the Hype Scene where the video lives. Works pretty well, overall.
But... the one issue I'm still fighting is that whenever a video starts, a black screen and the QuickTime logo appears briefly (from about 1/10 to 3/4 seconds), which is not what I desire. I've seen other iBooks with HTML widgets and video where the video appears to start, stop, and restart without any black flash at the beginning. Still trying to get that looking better.
Have you had any better success with your video inside an HTML widget?

Jul 25, 2013 1:05 PM in response to ugofalaceby TomRockwell,I just spent 4 1/2 hours working on this same issue and I found a solution. At least for me. There was a space in the file name of the widget I created.
That's all.
4 1/2 hours. For a space.
I changed "test 2.wdgt" to "test2.wdgt" and the videos magically started working again. Also, your video files can't have any spaces or special characters either.
Hope that helps!

Jul 25, 2013 1:20 PM in response to TomRockwellby patixa,iAd Producer has a validation window that catches stuff like spaces in video file names for iBooks Author widgets.
