This is such a no-brainer. Apple? you have always been known to make things with the end user in mind.
Just think "how are people going to use the apple TV?" hmmmm… Well it might get really annoying and frustrating if someone owns 24 seasons of the simpsons and has to scroll through every season to get past it to the next show.
Also, why cant you group movie series. I have the lord of the rings/star wars/james bond and it would be nice to just to have them grouped so it can be selected and I don't have to scroll through every single one.
This is an iTunes and Apple TV fix that needs to happen ASAP, even if its simply making a smart playlist available to view in the Apple TV.
Come on guys, Microsoft is starting to think of their consumers better than you now.

This is one of a series of small changes that I favored apple for and it brought me over from microsoft but is now pushing me away. When I got my first apple tvs about 4 years ago you could do this (even with the movies). If you had a series (I remember having JAG with 10 seasons) you would have one header and then it would be broken down by seasons and then by show. This could also be accomplished with movies like Indiana Jones or James Bond but somewhere apple did away with that feature. It seems only common since to organize the shows that way. I can't think of a logical reason or any advantages in the change but here we go making something simple more complex. I got on here today to see if there was a solution to why my shows and movies that are now broken apart. I guess not. Time to look for other solutions with other products.

As JohnStewart suggests, AppleTV 1 did this the sensible way with seasons listed when you selected a show - it really is infuriating the wasy iOS does it on AppleTV 2/3 so best option is to use Boyd's feedback link to send a message direct to the developers. They won't answer but still worth sending feedback.
AppleTV1 is long in the tooth but is still the only version to support iTunes Extras and iTunes LP too.
