Phone Number Wont Activate, Wont Connect To iMessage

I'm looking for help trying to get my phone number to connect with my iMessage.  It worked just fine until a day or two ago and now it wont connect.

 

I've tried multiple fixes from reading posts online:  I've signed in and out of iMessage, I've updated my ID, I've tried resetting my network settings, nothing has helped. 

 

I can currently recieve iMessages through my email on both my iPhone and my iPad.  However, I want my phone number connected to my phone, not the email. 

 

iMessage says "waiting for activation" and when I click on Send/Receive at only my email is given as an option.  I'd schedule an appointment with Apple or go to the Genius Bar, but I'm currently deployed to another country where that is not an option.  Similarly, I can't call to ask for help to troubleshoot.  Does anybody have any ideas or tips to get my phone number to activate so I can reconnect it?
