I am having this very same problem.
I'm on 2010 MacBook Pro Core 2 duo - running Mountain Lion 10.8.2... can you help?

I have a MacPro running 10.7.5. Whenever I go to Dashboard, Safari opens and I end up at r.twimg.com/jot. Now literally the moment Dashboard opens it happens. It is not possible to now delete widgets as I get immediately push out to Safari.
I have used Cocktail to clean all caches and still it happens.

Same issue: opening the widget screen automatically forces me back to desktop, where Safari automatically opens up to r.twimg.com/jot. Mine is a MacBook Pro, running Lion 10.7.5.

Had same problem 10.8.2
r.twimg.com/jot would open every time I triggered the dashboard.
First I redirected r.twimg.com it in the hosts file to 127.0.0.1, but that just made me feel better that I wasn't hitting that page every time.
Here's how I fixed it:
I used my magic mouse to slide over to the dashboard page.
I left it there long enough to trigger, but then swiped it back halfway, then back to the dashboard page.
I saw the warning that the certificate for the host wasn't valid showing through onto the host page.
Then I removed all my widgets, and when that was done I hit the minus sign in the bottom left, just to make sure everything was gone.
Then it quit being a problem.

Still have problems even after fix
I tried this and yes it did work. I deleted every widget and tested it, my culprit was the currency & metric convertor widget.
Once I had all my widgets gone and rebooted but my big mistake was trying to add the widget back after udating OS and rebooting thinking the problem solved. The problem came back so I deleted all the widgets & rebooted again but even with an empty dashboard/no widgets the twitter page still opens up when I go to my empty dashboard.
So don't try to add widgets back to dashboard otherwise your in trouble. Problem not really solved.
Now I'm really bothered by this, it's like I have a virus on my windows computer that I can't get rid of.

I managed to get rid of mine by repeatedly swiping left to right, and a crash error window came up. Once I sent the crash report to Apple, my dashboard randomly stopped adding that twitter page!
