Are you asking about backing up your IOS iPhoto Library on your iPhone/iPad or about backing up your iLIfe iPhoto Library on your MacBook Pro?
- On your Mac you can either include the drive with your iPhoto library into your regular Time Machine backup (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427), or regularly copy your iPhoto Library to a separate backup drive using the Finder (you can simply drag and drop your library to the other drive) or use a program that can make incremental copies of the drive with the library, like Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner.
- On your IOS Devices you can backup to iCloud or to your Mac with iTunes
