Q: Why is the Apple Mac Developer portal down, and for how long?

I cannot access the Mac Developer resources this morning.

With a company as advannced as Apple, I would expect them to be able to roll out web updates

seamlessly.

I don't like being out in the cold.

I want to download the Mavericks Beta.

I have actually grown to respect Apple a little bit...

I am not a big fan of large companies.

But you have a complete development system right out of the box.  One iMac.  A developer fee.  One iDevice. and you are ready to roll.

The rejections I have received have been documented, and once fixed were approved.

And I am getting better placement on the store (probably due to increased downloads and playtime)

    The system surely isn't perfect.

I am not making anywhere near the money I thought I would be at this point.

    But it does seem fair.

There really aren't many oppurtunities left in America.

And this is one of them.

The value of the iPhone is in large part the apps that run on it. So I disagree. There are bigger fish or smaller fish supplying apps, but its true. Pron put VCRs on the map. An OS is only as good as what you can do with it. Apple can't even produce a working calculator.

I don't buy an iPad just to read email, and I don't own a phone just to take calls.*

    * In fact my original intent was to review Apple documentation with the iPad. It singularly fails in that Apple documentation is useless on iPad Safari. You cant search it, zoom it, and the all but useless index is about as relevant as Xcode's code completion choices.

works for me as long as I login directly to the iOS Dev Center (not the member center)

I can't seem to access the iOS dev center no matter what I do. I'm trying to sign up for the iOS developer program. Is anyone else still in the same situation?

EDIT: I noticed another thread about this issue. So I'm not the only one with this problem, good to know.

I've asked already, but does anyone know how to register a new BundleID at the moment?

Going into the usual ITC screen

I didn't mean 'customers' in a legal sense though. And yes I understand that we're in a different category from paying people in the app store. What I simply wished to say was that as a recipient of the annual $99, apple is technically obliged to provide us the services we need to create apps. Such as the certificates, forums, and such. Those things weren't present in the past week. I could be forgiven for being a little disappointed since I paid for these services but couldn't access them.

I expect the relationship with apple to be mutual. I don't believe they don't need us. In fact, they need us just as much as we need them. We create apps that sell their products. Without apps the Iphones and Ipads would not sell as much.

I didn't mean to criticize apple, they had a tough week. But this whole hacking incident has strained their relationship with developers. Being able to express how it affected you is a good thing as it would help us move on and go back to normal programming.

Yestarday iOS7 beta 4 is released. It is still no active member center on the status page. It seems like Apple stuff is not working on the weekends and dayoffs... I thought that if such big company has technical problems - they do not go to sleep till the problem is not resolved. But nevertheless I hope that all resources will be available this week.

I am in the same boat 'Review License Agreement' takes me to Apple's we are sorry but we dont know how to run a production environment page. I build enterprise apps on IOS and have already lost one customer and another has threatened to leave unless I can give them enhancements I promised. I used to be exclusive on IOS but have decided to switch to building on the competition. If it takes this long for Apple to solve a hacker issue, what happens tomorrow when multiple hackers go at the company, are we going to be down for a whole year?

Hi Chester20, Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. The email Apple sent me said that their Developer Support Team was available Mon through Fri 7 am to 5 pm. I assumed that they would respond to my email eventually but maybe they meant that I should call them. I am feeling very overwhelmed by this whole process and frankly pretty discouraged; this could really take a long time. I am changing gears to work on other projects but I can't bring myself to really launch into another app.

Is anyone really still trying to defend Apple?  I just want to get my new iPod registered so I can test (and no the simulator is not the same - close but not the same).
