Possibly a temporary situation, give it a little time before doing anything drastic. Do you use Time Machine or any other back up facility.

My other Mac, with identical version of the OS and iCloud setups, cannot. I have trashed the TextEdit preferences file and restarted it. That did not help. Both Macs use Time Machine. How long should I wait before doing something drastic, like canceling iCloud and using Google Docs instead?
