Q: webdav not working

Dear all mac gurus!

I am new to server (having only dabbled in Leopard server before).

Now I have a Mac Mini (server) with 10.7 (Lion Server) installed.

I have created users and groups and attached a USB HDD to the Mini.

I have added this mini to the share panel and added it as a shaed resrouces.

I have checked the WebDav share check box and I have forwarded ports 80 and 443 to the mini via the Time Capsule.

Even locally I am trying this so I know that the router / internet is not the issue.

I now open safari and type http://server_address - or localhost/webdav

Since I dont have a signed cert, I need to add an exception not issue there..

A dialog comes up asking me for username and password (Great huh?)

I have tried entering both short name and long name and password but they both end up at the same place

Not Found

The requested URL /webdav/ was not found on this server.

Apache/2.2.19 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.19 OpenSSL/0.9.8r DAV/2 Server at [IP-Address-of-my-mini] Port 443

So what's the issue here? am I missing something?

I have tried to enable and disable security using self signed cert or not does not matter.

Hi Jonas Johansson, Not sure if you still need help or not seeing you posted the question a long time ago, but i found that my webDAV couldn't be accessed if Open Directory wasn't on and I also had found that the Users had to be 'Local Network Users'. Not sure if this helps.
