Hi, I'm trying to re-install Garage Band in my mac. I had download it from the app store, then when I try to open it, it appears a message saying that I need to download another data to install it properly. The problem is that it gets stuck before the download completes and It shuts down. I've had uninstall it and restarted my mac and try the whole operation from start, but it keeps doing the same error. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

GarageBand starts to download the additional contents and then quits?

+Enough disc space to install it.

Is that space on your system drive? Plus at least 10 GB for the OS as working space?

Do you have a fast and reliable network connection?

Are you signed into your Mac as administrator, when you are trying to download the additional content?

Are any Firewalls active, when you are downloading the files? Or any Anti virus filters? Try again, with  firewalls and antivirus software disabled.

Thanks for your concern. About the problem:

    * Yes, It starts to download the additional contents and then quits. Then when i try to launch it from the app icon and it appears a message that says i need to contact help from apple support, that it couldn't finish the installation.

*I have aprox 400 GB free in my system drive, where i try to install Garage Band.

*I do have a fast and reliable network. This is my home connection, where i usually download all my programs, updates, etc. It is working fine.

*Im signed as administrator when i try to install it. There are no firewalls nor antivirus software enabled.

Is there any way I can contact Apple Support directly?

I have installed other programs recently with no problems at all, so I figure GarageBand is the problem...

You could try to run the installer directly, see mteeps post here:

mteep: Re: GarageBand '11 won't download additional loops

Or try to download while booted into safe mode:

Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

If all fails, use the contacts on the Apple Support page:
