I've been having a serious problem. Namely that iMessages aren't all being delivered to all devices, but to some. I know this because people will show me what they've sent and it shows delivered on their device, but my iPhone shows nothing. I have talked to Apple Support several times and they continue to tell me there is nothing wrong with iMessage when clearly there is. All you have to do is go to twitter and type in "iMessage not working" and you will see the 100's of thousands of people complaining. Because of this I am wondering if there is any fix to this issue. It begins to send as an iMessage and will not deliver, then continues to send as an SMS message. I have contacted my carrier, AT&T and they have told me it has nothing to do with them, but with apple. The issue is beginning to become ridiculous as I am missing many messages in the past 4 days. I am wondering what the fix may be, if there is one, and if anyone else that may be reading the discussions is also having this issue. I have tried everything that support has told me to do and nothing has worked: restore, reset, everything.

If you look at the time/date stamp on those thousands of twitter messages you will see they all occur around the same timeframe when iMessage is down.   Details are important if you want to imply an issue exists.

Since a wide-spread issue does not exist, the problem must be with your device or account.

Start by disabling iMessage on your device and then re-enable it.

I'm pretty sure I'm having the same problem. It happened out of nowhere today. It sent one minute and then the next it didn't. I could recieve them but not send its as if they would just disappear.

I am having the same over the last couple of days. Starts as imessage then becomes SMS, nothing to do with signal. Have disabled, re-enabled, turned phone off and on again, airplane mode on/off...still no joy. Hope it is fixed soon!

Hey Barnyeard - I've been having the same trouble... it works on my iPad but not my iPhone - strange. also I'm in Australia - not the USA so its obviously a huge problem.

I was on the phone to Apple last night and they could not fix the issue without Erasing all Content and Settings which i'm not prepared to do just yet...

Hopefully there will be a fix for this shortly....

Hey Seanzies.  I did end doing a full reboot yesterday and I thought that didn't work.  But a friend randomly message me and it worked...Just make sure you back up before rebooting  It takes no time at all.

    Hey Barnyard

Apple will never admit to a problem..  I literally had to reboot my whole phone. Make sure you do a back up first. It didn't work right away but a friend sent me a message by chance about half hour after it was rebooted and its worked ever since.

    Good luck.

Here's how I fixed the issue.

    I did an iCloud backup

    Did a full reset

Restored backup and guess what.... it didn't fix the problem.

However.... here is what did fix the problem

I went into Settings --> Messages

Listed under the "Send & Receive" button it only showed one address listed.

On the 'You can be reached by iMessage at'  it only had my email address there with a check mark.  My phone number was unchecked but i couldn't check it for some reason.  So what I did was click on my Apple ID at the Top and choose view account.  Entered in my password and that made the phone number show as checked.  Then I started getting iMessages on my iPhone again.  If that doesn't work.  Click on Apple ID at the top and choose LOCATION

thats a different issue than what I had.

My issue was iMessages were only going to my iPad and not my phone.  It was a all the sudden thing that occured for me as it was working fine a couple weeks ago

I also had the problem of iMessage going to my iPad but not my phone - it was really annoying getting home to a bunch of messages from the day.  Try the reboot.
