Q: HELP! with digital copy

I transferred a digital copy of a movie from the disk to iTunes on my computer. Then I plugged in my iPad and synched it. The movies show up on my ipad in a "shared" folder. When I close down iTunes on my computer, the movies suddenly disappear from the ipad. Why is this happening? Is there a way for me to watch the movie on the ipad without having iTunes up and running on my computer?

It is not sync'd to the iPad.
You are simply viewng it in Shared in Videos app. This is Home Sharing.
