Q: can I see my macbook pro screen on the tv while using airplay?

How do you see the mac book pro screen on the tv using air play? Or can you? Can I put a DVD into my computer and watch it through appletv?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.5)
