Q: Copy/Paste deletes previous text?

Trying to figure this out. I just recently purchased a MacBook Pro and am new to the Apple world (aside from iPhone). I've had it for a few weeks and just started noticing it was doing this about a week ago. When I copy some text and go to paste it, where I right click to paste it will select either the dead space or the prior text and replace that text with what I'm pasting. Hard to explain. Why won't it just paste the text where the cursor is at instead of selecting prior text and replacing it?

I just recently purchased a MacBook Pro

You have 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked.  Plus you have 90 days of FREE phone tech support on top of your standard 1 year warranty unless you also purchased AppleCare which gives you an additional 2 years of coverage plus FREE phone support.

Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out.  Let Apple deal w/the problems.

Well.. I don't want to return my computer, because I don't believe it is a hardware problem. Any other advice?
