Aug 7, 2013 3:51 AM in response to den.thedby mc.thompson,Is there any other trouble shooting? built in camera on my macbook air stopped as soon as mountain lion went in. None of the support I've been able to find seems to recognise the problem. None of the applications can access the camera. The only incident that directly relates to the stoppage is the installation on mountain lion (some time ago now) but I really want to get facetime up and running again.

Aug 7, 2013 4:01 AM in response to mc.thompsonby mc.thompson,Also how do you do step 3
Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight
Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder, inside the Applications folder). Under the USB header, check to see if the iSight camera is detected.
I've got a macbook air, the USB sockets work with other devices but there is no USB header in the Utilities folder within Applications folder. Is there another location in macbook air that we need to be looking? or is there simply files missing?
Regards
Mark

Your published product info show you are using Mac OS X (10.6.8).
Restart Mac and then use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions.
Next, download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Repair permissions again immediately following the restart that completes the Combo update.
If your problem continues, reinstall OS X 10.6. Then apply the 10.6.8 v1.1 Combo again using the process suggested above.
