Q: How can I find a photobook that has gone missing?

I created a 70 page book that has disappeared! First it was stuttering in slideshow mode. I checked that the book was still fine in the gallery, it was all there.  I quit out of a bunch of programs including iphoto.  When I opened iphoto back up it showed the book with 0 pages and 293 unplaced photos--uh oh! I got a message that the theme was not available and it would try to convert as much as possible into a new theme.  I did this and it seemed to process, but then all I ended up with was a list of all the photos, no book layout.  ACK!  I spent hours and hours on this--is there somewhere to look on my hard drive for the book?   (Oh, and I was using iphoto '09, 8.1.2 I guess I neglected to update.)

Thanks for any light you can shed about where I might find the book, I don't have time to do it all over again! Ack.

You'll need to restore a backup copy of the library which was made just before this problem happened.  The book is only an entry in the library's database files so the entire library must be restored.  You do have a backup, right?

If you don't is suggest you implement a backup stragety ASAP.  The easiest way to so do is get an external HD and use Time Machine to make hourly backups throughout the day.
