Q: Laptop does not automatically connect to WiFi network

My MacBook Air has stopped connecting automatically to my home WiFi network. I have to click on the WiFi icon, then "join other network", then on "Show Networks", then on my home network. Before, the MacBook Air connected to my home network without me doing anything. I don't know what has changed. Other devices using the network connect automatically as always.

 

Any suggestions?

I believe CT's advice will solve your issues.

 

In Network preferences, my work MBP has two principal locations configured: House and Office. It is set to automatically figure these out. It does so accurately and reliably.

 

Additionally, under the Advanced > Wi-Fi tab, I have the wireless network names listed in work, home, and coffee shop order. I have remember networks this computer has joined -- checked.

    If this were happening me I would begin by trying the following. 

     

    System Preferences, Network, Wireless, Advanced.  There you will find a list of "known networks". Is your's there?  Maybe try deleting it.  Do you have "Remember..." checked? 

     

    Another thing you might try is Wireless Diagnostics.
