Hello! I read the Apple Support instructions here (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1578) on how to create password protected disk image. I'm not too familiar with the term "disk image", so I am wondering if anyone can help me understand. A couple of things I couldn't could find a clear answer to:
1.) If I create a disk image (I'm thinking of choosing the "read/write disk image") will I be able to delete files from it if I don't want them anymore? Can I edit the files directly on that disk image?
Yes. Acts just like any mounted voluime.
2.) If I am able to delete them, do I need to defragmet that disk image at some time? (But I read Mac's don't need to be manually defragmented. I've had mine for 2 years and it's been ok)
Finally, when you're finished with it, just delete the dmg file just like any other.27" i7 iMac SL, Lion, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), G4 450 MP w/Leopard, 9.2.2
