It's likely that most games you try to download no longer support the PowerPC processor in your PowerBook. Almost everything out there now requires an Intel processor since Apple abaondoned the PowerPC chip in 2006.

You cannot upgrade a PowerBook to an Intel processor, If you want to play modern games, your need a new Mac.

Avoid torrent packages. Too risky for my money

Chrome wil not run on any PowerBook as it is Intel-only. The last version of FireFox that supported PPC Macs was something like 3.6 and they are now up to v23.0.

I don't have RealPlayer and MediaPlayer. Visit their web site and look in their support pages for system requirements. You can also google "[insert program name here} system requirements" and get links directl yto that info.

Current versions of FlashPlayer are Intel Mac only

Whether you keep the old computer or get a new one depends on how you use the computer. It is still fine for productivity suites and simple web sites, but will not do modern web video worth a darn. Most web sites run rather slowly on PowerPC Macs today regardless of the spped of conenction or the computer. I have several fast (at least in their heyday) G4 Macs including a Powerbook and, even on our very fast 50MBps cable connection, they struggle with most web pages.
