Brightness on an iPhone is known to drain battery life. It will drain a lot quicker with it all the way up, will drop half as much with it half way, and so on. I always have the brightness on my iPhone 5 all the way down unless I am outside, in the sun. Phone lasts me maybe 12+ hours, depending on how much I use it. Try turning the brightness all the way down and see if you see a change? Also, turn locations off, turn Wi-Fi off when you're out and about, close all background apps if you aren't using them, and disable Push for emails. I have Push enabled but that is entirely up to you. Hope this helped.

Hi there, the stats you gave here after restoring the cellphone is based using it on 3G network or wifi?

Because on wifi sitting at the office my phone can last up to 9 hours of usage (email on push, writing and sending emails, FB, a lot whatsapp, and some browsing). When is on 3G max of 4 hours.

Please let me know before I do anything.

    Hi Iphone 5 users !!!

This is my first iphone and lately I have been having the same issue you all been having aka battery drainage. I thoughtI was recharging my phone too often and fryin my battery but no .. So, biggest thanks to my awesome sister in law for the help and being a life saver heh ...

You might have to turn off all the apps you have been using .. How ?

Double push the home button and the apps should be popping up on the bottom .. Hold down til you see red "-" circle icon on each app .. By turning them off, you click on on those apps and no, it wont delete the apps so no worries everyone heh .. This should, at least, solve your battery drainage issue .. Once you turn off all of your apps, charge your iphone til its 100% .. Unplug your phone and you will see the difference .. Your phone should be at 100% for at least an hour or so ..

Also, if youre not using "location services" you may want to keep it off til you need to use it ..

    I hope this helps !!

PS .. My phone have been 100% since 1:06pm, its getting better

I don't think this solved the problem. Closing apps, yes helps you to save battery. But this wouldn't be the solution. Regarding recharging at full and after unplugged phone still stays at 100%. This also happens to mine. Maybe some bug on battery level display. The fact is when it drops 1% then the draining starts, specially if you are using 3G (not even mentioning LtE).

Maybe battery bug but so far my battery life is improving so far .. right now its 97% and it have been 100% for 2 hours then it went down to 97% cuz i was using FB, Texting, and my screen is bright at the max ..

But I will report to my sprint still ..

I suggest everyone just go to their phone service and see what they can do ..

Daria your stats is based on 3G usage or wifi? As I said before, usage on wifi I can go 8 -9 hours of usage. I also have left the exchange push on. The reason is, I always checking email so it uses more battery making the phone to connect to server than just let the serve to inform when there is a new email.

actually .. im on the wrong here sorry ..

i looked at my phone carefully and apparently there is a battery status bug .. cuz it says 94% and the battery look full .. so it seems like i need a new phone ..

    sorry again

The real problem is using the phone on 3G. I used the phone for 1 hour on 3G for facebook and some emails battery went down from 100% to 85%. The got to the office, wifi on, bluetooth off, 3G network off, and used the phone for 7 hours and 20min. 15 hours standby and still have 28% left. So excellent battery life. I would never get to this on my galaxy s3. Even with the whole day on wifi. So apple fix the 3G (not LTE) drainning issue.

My iPhone is so bad, I had no apps running whatsoever, there was no service from my current location so no 3G or anything running either, the Bluetooth was off and I left it for about an hour. When I returned to my phone, the battery had reduced from 44% to 24%. I think this is appalling!

I got a new iphone replacement and the battery is great. Then i updated to ios 7 beta 1 and its horrible. But thats typical for a beta. Anyway if you battery is still bad get a Mophie.

thats the problem ... getting new phone replacement is not the solution and i think its the iOS that draining battery life.

Iv'e been having the exact same problem, my phone was fine 3 days ago now that battery drains in a 3-4 hours depending how much i use it. This morning my battery was 100% and i used it to look through a couple of things and make one call and when i got home after leaving it and not using it my battery was at 2% this is really a problem cause if i need to get in touch with someone and im not home i can't cause i have no battery. Anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? If not i think i will just contact someone and try to get it fixed or hopefully get a replacement phone!!!
