Jul 19, 2013 2:35 AM in response to Memodethby Bendish, this is also happening with me.....very irritating ....surely there is something going on which can be fixed?

Jul 19, 2013 2:51 AM in response to Memodethby kcstudio,Same programmers as in Apple Maps I suppose! They will fix it as soon there is apparent loss business-wise, but as long we are lined up at the store entrance, pushing to get in, nothing will happen.
Cheers!

Jul 31, 2013 10:32 AM in response to Electric Heatby The Art Of Sound,For what it is worth....
In every case so far, where this has occured with clients of mine.. (and where it wasn't related to the stall issue and certain network conditions.. which was fixed in 10.0.1) the issue has been found to be caused by either..
Their ISP and Max File size limits..and/or intermittant internet/WAN routing issues, (The most common cause)
Their own LAN network and it's related equipment such as rounters/firewalls/other apps installed and running in the background.. etc.. such as Little Snitch..(Fairly common..)
In one case... Energy settings on the Mac... putting HDs to sleep for example..
and in another it was related to a permissions issue and a HD that had some errors on it...
Finally I found a few were caused by deliberate or accidental stopping of the downloads initially which leave corrupted or incorrect data on the HD.. (Fixed by doing a full uninstall of all previous content downloaded)
If it was a general bug in Logic Pro X then it would affect a much larger number of people than it does...
That's not to say it couldn't be related to buggy code in Logic to download the content.. as anything is possible.. but again, in every case i have handled so far for my clients.. (apart from the stall issue which was fixed) I have found it was something unrelated to Logic Pro X itself.. . and those very same clients, when it was applicable, had similar issues with Logic Pro 9 and it's additional content downloads..

Aug 13, 2013 11:34 AM in response to Electric Heatby Chance Harper,I downloaded Logic pro x and after downloading it said in red letter "an error has occured" and the app simply didnt do anything further. I then went to the applications forlder and I found the logic x icon there and when I clicked on it it started up the downloaded of the additional content. Theres no way for me to bypass this and just use logic pro x (which is all i wanna do at this stage) cause thats all the app does. When I go back to the app store I can't redownload. The icon of logic pro x has a close icon at the top of it (looks like an x, like you can delete it). How did you get the app store to allow you to redownload it?

Aug 13, 2013 11:41 AM in response to Chance Harperby Chance Harper,I trashed the Logic pro X icon and opened the app store again and i was able to click donwload again. I clicked download and it shot stright to the end and installed the app. Then my launchpad started jumping and when I clicked on it i could see the logic x icon there and this time with now X symbol thing at the top left of it. Also app store no longer said "an error has a occered" but read "installed" so no when I click on the icon it just takes me to the download of additional content window (the one that asks you if you are ne to logic or not). Is this right and normal can I only access logic x and open projects with it after the additional content has been downloaded? How did it work with you guys?

Aug 13, 2013 1:17 PM in response to Chance Harperby mhauser12,No. My copy downloaded, installed, and opened up just fine, with no problems whatsoever. It asked me if I wanted to download additional content after it opened up. I chose yes. Everything downloaded perfectly, however it was not until everything began installing where Logic Pro X decided to not want to complete any of the installation processes. This is really grinding my gears right now, and I wish someone would do something about it. Ugh. Come on Apple, I didn't burn $200 because I wanted to donate to you guys.

Why have you not contacted Apple directly about this issue?
You have a full 90 days of free support from when you bought LPX so I'd use it if I were you..
Maybe you think posting here will put you in direct touch with Apple?
It doesn't...
Please read the following to help you understand...
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5671
Cheers.. and good luck in resolving your issue.

Aug 13, 2013 1:51 PM in response to Chance Harperby The Art Of Sound,Chance,
There is some essential content that needs to be downloaded first..after you downlaod and install LPX vai the App Store... Then you get to the additional content stuff normally which you can pick and choose from if you wish...
Hope this helps...
if not, give Apple a call directly.... and ask for their assistance..

Feb 15, 2014 6:54 AM in response to The Art Of Soundby Beyoom,Thanks for posting that this community forum does not get people directly in touch with Apple.
I'm having the exact same issue with Logic Pro X. Which, at the moment, should be named "Download Additional Content X"
I'll from now on use this community for for input that may be useful and not redundant.
