Aug 6, 2013 1:42 PM in response to shaneo77by ActionFanatic,I started having this problem in late June. Both the names and colours for some of my shared calendars suddenly changed to the names and colours used by the calendar owners (instead of the names and colours that I have assigned to them). This had worked just fine ever since shared calendars became available until June, 2013. My Mom and my sister are having the same problem.
I reported the problem to Apple support on July 3, and they ran through some troubleshooting with me. The names and colours are correct on the calendar app in Mountain Lion as well as iCloud.com through Safari on my Mac. However, when the calendar syncs to any iOS device, the namea and colours on SOME of the shared calendars change. This even occurs when setting up a brand new iPad for the first time.
If I change the name and colour on either my iPhone or iPad, the change seems to sync back to iCloud, but, just a few seconds later, the calendar app on iOS begins syncing again and the names and colours change back.
I spoke to two levels of support at Apple who were not able to resolve the problem. The second rep said the problem needed to be forwarded to an Apple engineer for investigation. It's now been over a month, and there has still been no response from their engineers. I've contacted Apple twice for an update, and they said the engineers still have not replied.

Aug 14, 2013 8:20 AM in response to ActionFanaticby Hollsman,Same deal - ridiculous. Apple's value is the "it just works" - this calendar color issue needs to be resolved. Not only do the colors change, but sometimes so that multiple calendars have the same color. Defeats the purpose of having multiple calendars. Fix it, apple.

Aug 14, 2013 11:30 AM in response to shaneo77by shell x2,This started just this morning for me. However, it's not a shared calendar that changing colors & it's only one of 5 calendars changing color (thankfully). Not sure why its happening, there was no update involved. The blue is my least favorite & just annoys me and of course it's my work calendar that I use the most :(
Needs to be fixed ASAP !!

Aug 14, 2013 12:40 PM in response to shaneo77by mer_uk,I'm having almost the same problem between my iPhone and iPad. My wife and I both share calendars which we call "Personal" and "Work" with each other, but rename the calendar to the other's name in our iCloud to make it clear which is which.
She is not having a problem with hers at all, but from this morning mine has been changing colour and dropping her name (so that it reverts to "Personal", ie what she actually calls it). The colours seem to change between my colour for her calendars, her colour for them and then the colour I have for my own Personal or Work calendars. I've tried changing the names so that they aren't called the same on both calendars but it hasn't helped.
Could really do with it being fixed, it's so annoying...

Aug 14, 2013 1:07 PM in response to shaneo77by Sophia65,The same problem here. My work-calendar (including events) which is normally green, keeps changing to purple. No matter how often I change the colour, either on my MacBook Pro or my iPhone.

Aug 14, 2013 1:41 PM in response to shaneo77by erickking,Same problem here. First noticed it at approx 0730 Pacific Time. Shared calendar that was "yellow" now keeps defaulting back to blue each time I change it.

Aug 14, 2013 1:52 PM in response to shaneo77by mhardesty77,I am experiencing the calendar color changes as well, across my devices and icloud. Some of the events in the calendar retain the correct colors, but all new events have the wrong colors. I have tried to change the colors back to the correct ones on each device, but they all revert back.

Aug 14, 2013 1:57 PM in response to mhardesty77by mhardesty77,One more thing: the additional thing that's happening is that they KEEP changing on their own, alternating between the correct colors and two different sets of incorrect colors. And these are not shared calendars—they are my personal calendars.

Aug 14, 2013 2:05 PM in response to mhardesty77by mer_uk,Mine change on their own too, it seems to be whenever the calendar app updates, so when you see the activity wheel spinning at the top.
Sine my earlier post I removed all the sharing between our calendars and it made no difference, so obviously isn't to do with that as you say.

Aug 14, 2013 2:42 PM in response to shaneo77by amarino3,This is happenning to me, too. My calendar that is for me (also sharred) is supposed to be green. It keeps turning my calendar to blue on my computer, and my reminders to orange. I logged in to iCloud and my calendar is fine. This is extremely frustrating. Color coding is used for organization, not to look pretty. I need the colors to stay as I set them!

Aug 14, 2013 3:21 PM in response to amarino3by docbombay,I am also experiencing the mysterious color changes as of today. None of my calendars are shared, and the one subscribed calendar I have seems unaffected. Only one of my calendars keeps defaulting to blue (supposed to be green), and the iCloud calendar has also gone to blue on a couple of occasions. This happens across my iOS devices. I called Apple Care today and spoke with a senior advisor, who had a few suggestions that were unsuccessful. Luckily, he was able to observe the spontraneous color changes by watching my iCloud website. He said he submitted a ticket to the Apple engineers, but did not know the cause of the problem. He says he will call me when he hears more, and I will be following this thread also.
