Aug 18, 2013 7:43 AM in response to Step214by rkaufmann87,★HelpfulCurrent iMacs can have external displays easily connected. You do NOT need 2 iMacs, you can use your old PC's displays if you want. You will need a connector similar to:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/B/mini-displayport-to-vga-adapter
and to connect the iMac (or MBP) to the external display follow Apple's instructions as described in How to use multiple displays with your Mac

Aug 18, 2013 9:34 AM in response to Step214by rkaufmann87,Yes but then you will need to get Thunderbolt displays. The reason you need Thunderbolt displays is because you can daisy chain them, on PC displays they do not have this ability. You can refurbishedThunderbolt displays from Apple at:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC914LL/B/refurbished-thunderbolt-display-27-i nch
Refurbished are identical to new and also come with the same warranty as a new display. BTW, I am writing this from my refurbished iMac which has operated perfectly for the past year. Refurbs are also eligibile for AppleCare/
