My macbook gets constantly thrown off the wifi. The only way I can get connection again is by restarting the router. Ipad mini network connection works great so does old 2006 macbook running snow leopard.

I know I am not alone with this issue.

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Assuming the MacBook was bought this year, have you downloaded and installed the latest patch? It is supposed to fix many of the connectivity problems.

Is the router's firmware up to date? Apple is about the only router manufacturer that routinely notifies owners about router firmware updates and I've found that even recently purchased routers have old firmware. Go online to the vendor of your router and see if there's a newer version available. Download and install it if so.

I can't speak for pre-patch perfromance but I can confirm that the patch certainly does not fix wifi connectivity problems on the 2013 Airbooks!

I loaded the patch as soon as Igot my MacBook Air and wifi has serious problems.  Another on the forum posted he had 'solved' his issue by using a wireless dongle in the USB port.  Hardly acceptable.

Did I say it solved all the problems? Many is what I said. I know of cases where it solved the problem and cases where it didn't. Also note what I said about 3rd party routers. The tech people in my building solved most of the recent WiFi problems by updating the firmware of all the access points. By the way, it isn't just MacBooks having connectivity issues so buying a PC, especially if it supports the newest WiFi standard isn't necessarily a solution.

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.

If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you also have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

Support only works if its a problem they can fix.I was offered higher level support from 2 agents only to have them not take my follow up calls and not return calls after me leaving polite messages.Did the genius bar thing and got 2 replacement machines with the exact same issues.Had an email from an Apple engineer who had me run a diagnostic and send him the file.He promised to be in touch the next day-never heard fom him again. The only offer I got was to upgrade me to a retina pro if I paid the difference. I am still hoping there will be a fix, but I am more doubtful every day.
