Sometimes I download pdfs (lets say a journal article from Pubmed) and save on desktop. When I am finished with the document, I often save it or move it to a Amazon cloud drive. Sometimes when I want to open the file from the cloud drive, I click on the pdf and get this error message  "...pdf is used by Mac OS X and cannot be opened." What is happening to the file. I cannot move, rename or do anything to the file. File Info says "You have no access". Open with says correctly Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional. If I go to change it to Adobe Reader 9.X it tells me that I don't have privilges.
