It doesn't take 3-5 days for them to do it. I did it just the other day and it was done within 12 hours.

3 to 5 days is what I was told by AT&T.
That's irrelevant though since I don't want to permanently block my outbound caller id. I want to selectively block it on a per call basis. Currently I don't know whether that will work or not. Of 5 numbers I've called, it worked on 3 of them and failed on the other 2.

I have experienced the same issues. Like Morac, I do not want to have it done by the carrier so that all my calls are blocked. I would like to be able to block it "on demand." Has anyone received any new updates since this was first posted?

Too bad. That's your only option at this time.

Other than being sarcastic, that doesn't offer any additional information.

Your question was answered. If you want Apple to include this as a feature, got to http://www.apple.com/feedback/
Perhaps this will be a feature in an upcoming iOS update...

It is a feature already, but it is not working as expected. Tat is why so many have logged this same problem, but other than snippy condescending comments, no real answers have been provided. I can see that this forum is a waste since no one who really can offer information or solutions contributes.

Really? The feature to predetermine outbound caller ID blocking is a feature? I did not know that!
Well, if it's a feature, then tell me how do I selectively predetermine which numbers my Caller ID is blocked? I know how to block it on ALL calls, but how do I preset numbers that it is always blocked, but allow it for other numbers, without having to change it back and forth all the time in Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID ON/OFF?
I'd love to be able to do this on my iPhone. Please explain how to use this feature, flprost!

It's not a feature in the current OS. I've read that it's supposed to be in iOS 7 but I don't ever believe anything until the OS comes out and I can see it for myself.
Edit: I read this entire thread wrong and thought you were talking about something else. So disregard what I wrote above.

To block calls on a per-call basis:
Insert #31# at front of phone # you are dialing. Will show up as Unknown to recipient.
Works on AT&T iPhone, and presumably all GSM carriers since it is a universal code.
