    My account too was hacked.

The person who is behind this has downloaded at least 30 apps from the Store. I have ongoing calls to Apple Support and when asked can they provided me with a list of what/when/where those apps were purchased, I got a reply very gently that "sorry we cannot give out this info because we have to protect our customers". This raises another question to myself "AM I NOT THE CUSTOMER?" and "IM THE VICTIM OF FRADULENT ACTIVITIES HERE". Apple, you guys better change your freaken customer terms and allow these victims to see and have a copy of these fradulent activities. We are not being protected by you to stop this from happening. You on the other hand don't give a SH*T about customers like us. I hated the fact that I have to change my password a few times and also put the two ways authentication on but still more apps were downloaded using my ID. Please provide me with a list of who is using my ID to purchase apps.

There is only a very slim chance that Apple will even read your entry and certainly won't provide you the information you requested. They aren't even allowed to post to topics such as this. The only responces you will find here are from users like you.

Having had a discussion or two about situations such as yours I can tell you they aren't allowed to give you most details without a court order and I'm sure recent disclosures won't help matters.

    I have the same problem:

PENDING DEBIT CARDAPL*APPLE ITUNES S866-712-7753 CA

Does anyone know how to refund the money they charge or at least how to prevent it?

    Thanks for any help!

OCUSA, this is a known Internet scam that has been around since at least 2008. Do an Internet search on it. This doesn't involve iTunes. It is a scam to pose as funds going to iTunes, when in fact the funds are going to a bogus PayPal account, someone is running a good scam.

If this happens to you, call your bank/credit card co. and cancel your card immediately. This is a scam, and it is not Apple ITUNES ~ they charge small amounts of money initially, and if the charges go thru & you do not cancel your card, they will charge larger amounts online elsewhere.

Just ran across this discussion by accident but having had problems with Apple's much-touted security (though am repeatedly told by Apple customer care and many users who join in discussions as if they owned stock in the company), I have noted little or no discussion on Apple's claim of not needing extra firewalls, virus/malware/bots/rootkits etc. protection. I will not get into the problems I have had; however, first, one piece of advice: file a compaint with the FTC if, after reading it over, it seems in any way applicable.  As for credit card advice: credit cards all ask you to try and resolve the matter with the entity before they step in. If you get no help, then turn it over to them. Two final items I'd like to throw out there (based on personal experience and observations): Apple seems to have a bad habit of neglecting to include all details of a case (and losing cases), and except with regard to the large amounts of credit card fraud, I have come to believe that the small ones are a way of placing a bot (or worse) on your equipment (thus making you a part, unknown to you, of a large group of accounts and servers put together to practice malfeasance way beyond iTune fraud or other definitely unwanted things. Denial of service and use of your resources are also possibilities. These are very hard to discern - and even an intense wipe of your hard drive prior to reinstall cannot guaranty that rootkits have been eliminated. Food for thought!

Actually the above is in reply to all those with the iTunes' problems (and anything else noted thereafter).

I was also hack too, but the wierd thing is that I had no credit card linked up to my account, but whoever hacked into my account was still able to purchased $25 worth of apps. I recieved 5 emails showing me the purchases made and it was billed to store credit, and also to my address. I have not recieved any mail yet about any purchases made, but what does it mean by "bill to store credit". I have already change my password, and waiting on a reply back from apple support, and in the proccess of the two step verification. I feel a little bit better knowing I am not alone in this problem. I hope there will be fewer hacks, and better securities as Apple goes on.

Normally they use somebody else's credit card with a different account. That delays the real victim from knowing their credit card has been used / stolen. I have no idea where store credit would come from.

Why don't you give better answers?

You can give any answers you want.  They don't need to be correct.

"What was the first concert you attended?"

    Harley Davidson

"What is the name of the street where you grew up?"

Our account was somehow hacked password contained an eight letter word and four digit numerical code.   Honestly thought it would be strong enough lol.

This was like a week ago... Then tonight about 20 minutes before we went to bed and I tried to update my apps ... Hacked again??? Reason I say 20 minutes before hand is I found an email notification that the password was changed as I was using the email to reset password myself lol.

I have now updated to a new password using two words and eight digit numerical code.

I have also removed the apps that have been added to our account in case they are being used to obtain our new account data.

Lost the pre paid credit we had in itunes ( less than $50 )

Rather disappointing to say the least.. :(

    Did you contact iTunes support?

The passwords are getting hacked on a recurring and regular basis.  Mine gets hacked at least twice per month, typically followed by one or more downloads of free (0 charge) games.  The email that I get after one of these unauthorized downloads says that the download originated in China -- so CLEARLY Apple knows that the download was not authorized, but chooses to do nothing about it.

I've informed iTunes support about this and all I get is "the security of your account has not been compromised."  Yeah, right.    iTunes security is an absolute farce.    Shameful.
