Q: iTunes 11 crashes when opening the store - no error message

I just installed iTunes 11 and it all works OK except the store.

When I click on the store, it all looks normal at first, but after the banner and the Quick links are displayed, I get a Windows message that the program is not working correctly and offering to close it. There is no error message.

The problem is system wide.

It did not respond to a complete uninstall of all Apple software and reinstall.

It still happens when I do a selective startup with basic services.

I  have the following Segoe fonts: Segoe Print, Segoe Script, Segoe UI and Segoe UI symbol regular.

Could it be some other font issue?

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

May I ask how you downgraded. I've tried constantly with this new iTunes and everytime I click to the store, it crashes only displaying the black screens for the cover flow. Very annoying.

I've had the same stupid Itunes store issue like evryone else and have been hunting for a solution. I'm a 65 year old retired carpenter and no computer whiz kid.... but I followed the info and links from gn_id and that got it fixed. My hats off to you!

So gn_id seems to be the man to see to fix this but my error is a little different then the one everyone else seems to be posting on. I'm on a windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. Intel 3570K processor. I do not yet have a graphics card I am using the onboard graphics of an MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard:

    Description:

Faulting application name: iTunes.exe, version: 11.0.2.26, time stamp: 0x51253247

    Exception code: 0xc06d007e

    Fault offset: 0x0000c41f

    Faulting process id: 0x14fc

    Faulting application start time: 0x01ce3a0500823809

    Report Id: 43e1a56f-a5f8-11e2-8a02-d43d7e980984

Any help anyone can give me on this would be HUGELY appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

JKropf, I had an error with the exact same error code and here's how I fixed it:

After trying gn_id's fix and having it not work, I pulled out procmon.exe myself and discovered that iTunes was trying to load QTMovieWin.dll and seemed to be failing to find it. I could see that it was searching all the folders in the PATH environment variable, so I added the folder containing that file (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\) to the PATH environment variable, and voila it started working.

    Hope this helps,

    -Paul

If you have an onboard intel graphics processor try disabling that, I saw it in another post and it finally worked for me. Good luck.

I've made the update through the device manager (my video card is an intel 4000 3rd generation) and now it works.

Thank you so much Paul, it worked for me too! QTMovieWin.dll was the source of the problem. Just wondering why such an error occurs...

Hi guys - new laptop, been running it for about 5 months, no problems.  Suddenly today iTunes crashes everytime I try to access the store.  I can access all other parts of iTunes and I can get Genius updates (store crashes iTunes with Genius disabled also).  I disabled the MS fix that is referenced above with no effect.  I have turned off all firewalls to no effect.  I get the following from MS:

I am having this problem as well Baron23-1, and the above fixes are not working for me either. All the sudden Genius wants to work as well, and when it finishes working an error pops up that says : We could not complete your iTunes store request (but i never made a request). An unknown error occurred (4002). There was error in the iTunes store. Please try again later. What is happening with my iTunes store?
