Q: are the new 500mbps powerline adapters truly gigabit

Hi.. Just returned from an extended absence from this forum.   That link was useful.  I have another practical question - The 500mbps Powerline pairs that have a wifi feature at one of the plugs say simply 500mbps. For example -

If there is another pair of powerlines that are noted as gigabit, therefore supporting the larger frames, in an environment that are connected to a Gigabit capable MacPro and a Gigabit router, and to the above non-gigabit plugs as well - do these non-gigabit Powerline plugs bring down the effective throughput to the Mac Pro from the Router (and the reverse)?

I know that's a mouthful. I hope that's a clear representation of my proposed environment.

Yeah, I guess it's one of those where I won't really know till I hook up the system and test it out. I don't have a need for speed on the wifi piece as much as basic coverage to the back of the house/backyard.

I finally replaced four netgear 200AV powerline routers with four 600AV2 powerlines from Zyxel. They work great. I don't have the ability to do technical testing, but real world throughput IS close to three times better. The connections to and through the router seem more stable too.  I haven't tried to add a powerline/wifi combo yet. That's next.
