Q: are the new 500mbps powerline adapters truly gigabit
I see that there are powrline adapters out there that are sold as 500Mbps that claim to attain gigabit speeds. I would like to know if I would be able to ectually expect to be able to get my mac to recognize the speed as gigabit in network settings.
Thanks

Well, 802.11n Wifi is never going to do 500Mbps, 300 if you're lucky.
On the slowdown question, I think it more depends on the Router, & if it handles the channels/connections seperately.
