The battery still works and the charger looks correct, so the problem can't be other different than the logic board, the worst problem you may have. This the only reason why your charger doesn't light up and why your Mac can't start up.
It's expensive and probably Apple doesn't have the logic board for your MacBook, so the cheapest solution is to get a new PC or Mac. Unfortunately, this is the case for most logic board problems

Thank you for answering and for your help, truly. To have my worst fears realized... It's such a blow to loose my MacBook right now. But you're right, after a bit more research and tests, the symptoms do point to a damaged logic board.
I think I'm going to first look into ways to retrieve my hard drive's data...
