Guys,
Seems Apple has not yet made it very clear on how user can completely delete his/her account.
but take below as work around.
sign in the I'd from iTunes, go and remove your billing information, set it to none.
with the rest, you can edit and leave optional selection unfilled and try your best to gave fake info about other details like first, last names or birth day, then completely abandon the ID.
if its really very necessary for your to delete this ID, then take from me that we are never sure the account info has been deleted completely from host server after all backup is always on.
I dont know if you are still having this issue about deleting your apple id.. It can be done.. but by Deleting your Apple ID it is permanent. If you choose to delete this Apple ID, you will no longer be able to access any services that were used in conjunction with it. For example, if you signed up for iCloud with this Apple ID you will no longer be able to access iCloud services such as email or calendars.Once your Apple ID has been deleted, your Apple ID cannot be reactivated. You also cannot use the same Apple ID name or any of the email addresses that are associated to the Apple ID to create another Apple ID. If you decide to create a new Apple ID, you will have to use an email address that has not been used with or as the Apple ID you requested we delete. For example, if you have JohnnyAppleseed@icloud.com as your Apple ID name and primary email address, and you also have JohnnyAppleSeed@example.com as your verified additional email address; you will not be able to add either email address as an additional email address on another Apple ID or create an Apple ID with either email address. If you would like to use any of the email addresses that are currently associated with the Apple ID in question, please sign in to AppleID.apple.com and remove them before proceeding with deletion. However, you will not be able to remove the Primary Email Address from the Apple ID.
just call apple care they will ask if y u want to delete it but you dont have to answer and then you w/be connected to the appropriate department and they w/delete it for u
However, while this is true, for the vast majority of people, there is no need to go through these steps. Just leave the account dormant. Remove your billing information. It's really not that big of a deal.
But, yes, it can be permanently deleted if someone really, really wants to.
I have tryed to put some music on my friends phone and it has synced all my contact on her phone I restored her phone and now she has my apple is how do I get off or delete her off mine or make her a new one??
What consequences?
The consequences of wanting to completely lock an account out of the system and ALL information associated with it.
Make it difficult, make it conditional of jumping through multiple multi-layered hoops, make it delayed, but if the user wants their account deleted, then, like virtually every other on-line service worldwide, the user SHOULD be respected and the account should eventually be removed in its entirety.
With respect to purchases. iTunes and the App store, the greatest money making scam from Apple than everything else Apple combined. They COULD make it possible to transfer your legitimate purchases from one ID to another. Technically it is extremely feasible. I'm sure a legally sound method could be arrived at. Especially for people who move countries.

1. so what copnsequences would those be? There's no actual consequences for apple if they choose not remove an Apple ID.

Lets say the comply and offer a way to "delete" the account. Who is to tell you there isn't a backup in a server somewhere. Again what ultimate purpose does deleting the account achieve that is not achieved by simply not using said account again ,having removed sensitive information such as credit card info and address before you stop using it of course.

Why is it a scam? Apple is a company, and shock! companies are out to make money. How is it a scam to sell people applications they can use in their devices? How exactly are they scamming the user?

I'm sure there may be a way they could let you do it. But the they'd fall into the issue of positively identifying both accounts as belonging to the same user so as to not fall in the Piracy hole of having unscrupulous individuals copy Apps with impunity onto different ID's
For normal people who just want to consolidate ID's I say this: There's no reason people should be creating additional apple ID's all over the place and having purchases scattered around in them. Keep one ID, and if your e-mail address no longer functions go to AppleID.apple.com and update it to a new functional one. The Apple Id remains the same and is still tied to all your purchases. If your forget your password, or your security questions reset them. Its easy to do.
How is moving to another country relevant? When you move to another country, you can go into your Account settings, and change both the store your account is associated with so it is the one for the new country, and change the payment method you use to one with a billing address in the new country.
There is no valid reason to need to have to merge two ID's because if you maintain your Apple Id's correctly you should have no problems.
The issues come when people forget their passwords, disable their emails, or simply create a new ID when they buy a new device for no reason.
If people took better care of there Apple ID, merging accounts and transferring Apps would not even be a issue.
Perhaps you should read this thread again. Since this thread started, Apple has instituted a policy that allows customers to delete their Apple ID, after they verify their identity with Apple Account Security. You're arguing a moot point now.
in my billing information, i cannot select none for my credit card. I don't have a credit card to use and then delete the info. so i want to delete the apple id/ what do i do
My phone broke and my game enter was linked to an email that is no longer valid... I created a new apple I'd thinking this would change the email associated but now I can't get back any of my game data drone Game Center unless I verify with the email that no longer exists and since I created a new apple Id with my new email it says I can not change it to this because my new email is already in use... What should I do?
i am having this same problem, did you figure it out?

Could you point to where that information is on the web site? I cannot find anything that says anything about this in the Apple legal stuff here on the web site, and nothing online in any News site or search.
I'm not saying you are wrong, but if true, I'd like to see some actual press release or legal statement from Apple that confirms it. It would just be nice to show people who keep coming back questioning this.
I cant get on that link it says I have to try again, an it still doesn't work.

Wish I had a link, but I don't. All you have to do is call Apple Support, and ask to delete the Apple ID. That's only if you really, REALLY need it to be deleted. Most people don't need it deleted, though.
