i'm trying to delete some unused apps on my mac, it keeps asking me my admin username and password. i changed my password recently so when i try to type in my new password/username, it says "You must type an administrator's name and password to make changes to ______. Please try again." but when trying to log in to my admin account using the same pass/username, it works perfectly.

Most likely these applications were installed using Drag and Drop, so they are connected to the username and password used when they were installed. So, try changing both. If that doesn't work then try this:

Assuming that you are using a recent build of OS X, go to /Applications/Utilities and launch the app called Keychain Access. Go to the Window pulldown menu and select "Keychain First Aid". Enter your password, set the radio button to "Repair", and click "Start".
