Well, I suppose there is some comfort in that...LOL Cheers

Ah, didn't mean to be frivolous in my last reply, but it was late and I was frustrated.
We seem to have the same issue, although I only sporadically received the "Could not complete your iTunes request" and not at all anymore. Not sure what cleared that up but I still crash after accessing the store and I have tried everything but shutting down all services and starting them up again one by one (per Apple's great help on this subject and which will be time consuming and a bit fraught for us non-IT types). I have tried everything else recommended.
I have run the iTunes diagnostic and it confirms that I have https to the Apple servers.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The QTMovieWin.dll was the source of my issue as well. procmon was fantastic in helping me determine that and thank you for your advice on modifying the PATH entry, it worked perfectly.
As a side note, my iTunes is installed on a different hard drive as I did not want it on my SSD. Out of curiousity, is anyone else with this specific issue configured the same way?

MazokuRanma - YES!! Thank you!! I ran procmon but I'm not an IT guy and was a bit overwhelmed by the data capture. However, I did see calls to QTMovieWin.dll failing.
I girded my loins (ok, bit over dramatic...but adding PATH variables can be a bit daunting to the non-pro who doesn't want to mess up his new computer) and added the PATH entry you suggested (prior I had confirmed the location of this dll on my hard drive).
Wow, I still think Apple ***** for making us go through this level of trouble shooting and fix and if they aren't careful there are a bunch of Window's OS users who will start buying their music elsewhere than via iTunes store (which was what I was about to start doing). Imagine what the average Grandmother would do...she would walk away is what.

Disabling my display adapter worked! Thank you. I disabled my Intel HD Graphics 4600 adaper, and can now access the iTunes store. Of course, I've lost all but the generic display adapter functions.
Would you think this would be an iTunes bug or an Intel display adapter bug?

So are there any known solutions for Windows 8 users yet?

The PATH setting fixed my iTunes crash. I'm really happy now......
I did hot a new PC and didn't got iTunes to run at all (only without network connection).
BTW: I'm using Windows7 / 64 bit and the PATH setting fixed all issues.

This worked for me.
"Re: iTunes 11 crashes when opening the store - no error message
The same, still crash.
I uncheck the 'search entire library'" via magnifying glass and uncheck all item on Preference/Store"

I read the windows update page you linked to. I have been having this problem on both my previous win7 laptop which bit it, and now with my Win8 machine. The update page only lists the patch for up to win7. Do you know if that is safe and will work for my Win8 machine? Thanks!

Is iTunes Store working 100% for you? I tried your suggestion of running iTunes in Admin mode. I can not open the store in iTunes, but I can't open up my account or redeem gift cards among other administrative functions. I'm running Win8 and have all updates.

itunes works perfectly in all areas since I changed to running in admin mode. Sorry no more answers
