HI there

I am not able to see the airplay icon on any of my itouch (3rd gen) iphone 4S or ipad mini.

I have 2 mac mini's (one late 2009 one pre-2009) one running Snow Leopard the other running the latest version of Mountain Lion. I also have iTunes on a Win 7 PC. All are running the latest version of itunes. All three machines are connected to my home network through LAN (wifi is disabled on all computers). They are all able to share itunes libraries. I'm also able to control itunes via the iOS remote app on any of my mobile devices.

As mentioned none of the iOS devices "see" any of the itunes clients on the network.

What is a little strange is that I am a user of XBMC and whenever XBMC is running on one of the macs or PC the iOS devices magically display the airplay icon and I'm then able to stream content to the macs. My question is, why does airplay not work when XBMC is NOT running?

Connectivity of the mobile devices is good from all places in the house, I use 8 player to stream music/video from the home NAS box (via DLNA) without any issue.

Many thanks for reading

Tony
