I do not want to individually choose each artist then each album.  I am looking to convert an entire library consisting of 500 + albums in as few clicks as possible.

    Google it.

iTunes does not convert WMA files to an iTunes compatible format.

    Truck tape,

You are correct.  iTunes for Windows can convert WMA files to the iTunes-compatible format that you have specified in your import preferences.  (iTunes for Mac cannot do this.)

Find the folders those WMA files are in, and just drag those folders into the open iTunes window.

File > Add to library and select the topmost folder with the music.

Or drag the topmost folder to Library at top left of iTunes.

    Truck tape,

    A couple of suggestions:

If you want to  give up on converting the WMA files but still go mobile, you can drop the iTunes idea and instead opt for a mobile device that syncs with Windows Media Player and can handle WMA, such as Zune or Sansa.

If you want to take another shot at converting the WMA files to MP3, check out a dedicated conversion tool such as Switch or dbPowerAmp.
