I've got an old macbook 13" 2008 model which needs upgrading to 10.7 so that I can download and run both icloud and various CS6 software for a new client.

First question is can i upgrade straight to 10.7 without having to uprgrade to 10.6 first?

Secondly if I do manage to upgrade to 10.7 will I be able to run the required software? Some of the system requirements are as follows:

  • Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
  • Mac OS X v10.7 (64 bit) or v10.8 (64 bit)
  • 1GB of RAM

But i'm unsure as to whether or not my macbook meets these requirements? Macbook spec:

Hardware Overview:

  Model Name:    MacBook

  Model Identifier:    MacBook4,1

Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo

  Processor Speed:    2.1 GHz

  Number Of Processors:    1

  Total Number Of Cores:    2

  L2 Cache:    3 MB

  Memory:    1 GB

  Bus Speed:    800 MHz

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
