First thing I'd try is this -
- Turn off Airport.
- Then go to System Preferences > Network > Airport > Advanced > Preferred Networks. Drag your own network's name to to top of the list. Delete the name of your neighbor's network. Accept the changes.
- Then turn Airport back on.
- Your Mac should log into your own network. It will still "see" your neighbor's open network but since your network's name is at the top of your list of Preferred Networks, your Mac should automatically log you on to your own network in preference to all others.
