Jun 8, 2013 12:45 AM in response to Simple Livingby abombaci,All this is is a bug. I tried to update an app from my iPod Touch about a month ago and I kept putting in my username and password so I could update the app and when I pressed enter the box just wildly popped back and ask for my password over and over again. I kept trying for a half hour and kept putting in my usernamd and my password but no go.
Finally after about a half an hour I was signed in!

Jun 9, 2013 3:56 AM in response to Simple Livingby AndreD,11.0.4 still seems to have trouble with the password, at least for me. Just now, I had to enter the password eight or so times before iTunes accepted it... still pretty frustrating...
Not sure what's going on with Apple but the company and its products seem to be getting worse... sad and hopefully not true, but too much success doesn't seem to be too good for them...

Jun 22, 2013 3:42 AM in response to AndreDby anorton,For me, the problem is functionally fixed, except for a risidual "ghost" bug:
I leave myself signed in as a default. Since "Check For Available Downloads" doesn't work anymore, I have all my email notifications turned on for my season passes. When a new episode posts, I get an email with a link to download the episode. When I click on this link, the episode starts to download.
However, I also still get the "Sign In" screen. If I hit "Cancel", it goes away. (The episode is already downloading). Entering my password just loops the "Sign In" screen back over and over, until I finally hit "Cancel".

Jun 22, 2013 4:09 AM in response to anortonby anorton,The "ghost" bug pops up in other situations as well. I just made a purchase in the store (while signed in), and the "Sign In" screen appears, with the "Buy" greyed out. I enter my password, and the episode starts to download, but the "Sign In" screen goes into its "infinite loop" thing until I hit cancel.
Another (unrelated?) thing that has started to happen is that I have started getting double downloads of TV shows.
For instance, after the action described above, Itunes also began downloading another copy of Defiance, Episode 09, which I had previously downloaded on Tuesday, and is still in my library.

Aug 12, 2013 2:21 AM in response to Simple Livingby hyperi,Is anyone still having this problem? It just started doing this today for me. Changed password & had to add an upper case letter that I didn't need before. Trying to update apps and it just keeps saying password is wrong, but I can use it on my iphone.

Aug 26, 2013 6:36 PM in response to Simple Livingby ahwisconsin,I'm having a problem with my password on my iPod. I reset it and I want to reinstall some of my purchased apps and it keeps telling my password is incorrect. I really like my Apple products and I'm guessing it's a nightmare keeping all the balls in the air, but I'm really getting frustrated with the whole password thing. Right before this (or maybe at the same time) I kept seeing that I had apps to update. I'd open App Store and the update section was blank. It finally started working again, but it seems like there is always something not working.

Nov 21, 2013 8:54 AM in response to Simple Livingby SeaPuss,I had a similar issue. I was able to "sign in" to the iTunes store, but when I tried to view my account information iTunes repeatedly asked for my password in an endless loop. I solved the issue by unblocking cookies in Safari: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3388

Nov 21, 2013 9:10 AM in response to mailhoundby Paul Vail,Not always a bug where you expect it. I love the cookies reply, but sometimes its the keychain issue. You may have to go into your keychain manager (Applications/Utilities) and delete any itunes passwords stored there. If you haven't already quit iTunes, do so -- then relaunch it and try again. Keychains are not always properly updated, or there may be more than one. Cleaning out the one for an errant account is one way to resolve. Don't nuke all of them -- each key is for a specific function or account (like email, online forms, etc.) And there are other items in the keychain utility that you can delete -- certificates, etc. -- that you really do NOT want to. Good luck.
